A well balanced course has been designed by the Cross Guru for the Smithville CX Festival. The course features 158 feet of climbing per 1.8 mile lap with plenty of pavement, flowing turns, a few off camber turns, a natural steep run up (one the Guru is famous for) and Hammer Beach along the shores of Smithville Lake. As always, the money tree will be in full bloom for the festival.
The Wheel Cyclery, Clay County Parks, KCA, Tifosi, FRS, Hammer Nutrition, Raw Revolution, Sugoi Performance Apparel, Lantern Rouge Volunteer Group, Thoroughly Kneaded Muscle Therapy, JET performance Chiropractic, 53x11 Coffee, Cowtown Cycling and Chamois Butt’r, bring the event more than $3,000 in prizes.
Prizes are plentiful; and the food abundant. Sunday will feature a Chilli Extravaganza. Don’t forget…coffee by the gallon and lots of sweets!
Pre-Registration goes until Thursday Midnight. - As always; if you pre-register your name goes in the series raffle. The raffle will be at the conclusion of the final round. The raffle includes a CX Frame (your size), a Cycleops JET Fluid trainer with block, and a few other awesome surprises.

Racing at Sailboat Cove begins Sunday at 10:00 a.m. with the Category 4 men going off first. Ladies don’t forget that KCA is sponsoring the Category 4 women with supplementing your entry. Which means you race for only $10. Races continue throughout the day with the Category Men 1/2/3 racing at 1:00 p.m. and the finale at 2:00 with the Men’s Cat 3/4. This is a great venue for spectating.

Round #2 of the De Stad Cyclocross Van Kansas Series presented by Paceline Products.
The 6th Annual Chris Cross Cyclocross was a great success with a recond number of participants. Thank you to everyone who came out on this cold October day to race on a demanding course (thank you Rich Anderson for the fun (pain)). The support for the Forest Avenue Women's Shelter was appreciated. Thank you again to everyone who donate. It took a lot of hard work from the Cow Town Cycling Team, Lantern Rouge Volunteer Group, The Wheel Cyclery, a host of volunteers and of our great offiicials. Without all of you we could not have pull it off.

Showers and a bike wash will be available for the Chris Cross Cyclocross this Sunday. A special thanks to the University of Saint Mary for allowing us this convience.
Course will open for practice at 9:00am Sunday morning. No pre-riding allowed on Saturday.

The Cow Town Cycling Team will be collecting donations for the Forest Avenue Women's Shelter in Kansas City, Missouri. Please bring your donations of housewares, personal care products and non-perishable food items to the Chris Cross Cyclocross event on October 11th, 2009. You will receive a raffle ticket for your donation and more importantly be helping the over 9000 local women and children per year who stay at the shelter for help. Bicycle Shack of Kansas City will be sponsoring the Men's Open class this week with special prizes and cash awards. The Santa Fe Trails Bicycle and Coffee Shop will be supporting us all with their tasty blend of coffees. Please stop by and have a cup while at registration. The Kansas Cycling Association is proud to again sponsor the Women’s Beginner Cat 4 class. Thanks to a partnership with the KCA and our event promoters, the entry fee for the Women’s Cat 4 division has been reduced to $10.00.
